About vca
Founded by Elaine Everett and Michele Wilson, vca is a company dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with communication problems. Communication difficulties are common place in many walks of life.
Our researched and tested visual aid books, signage and boards have been designed to help alleviate these problems. We have created a series of illustrated drawings to convey everyday situations.
The use of imagery is highly beneficial for people who have dementia, are visually impaired or who have had a stroke. Pictures are also an effective communication tool for people who have learning difficulties.
Using vca books and signage helps reduce misunderstandings by removing language as a barrier. Just let the pictures do the talking.
vca PERSONALISED BOARDS
There is growing evidence that images are a useful way of successfully communicating with Care Home Residents. The personalised vca Menu and Activity Boards are invaluable tools that will help improve communication between residents and staff.

vca CARE HOME SIGNAGE
The design of signs for people with dementia and learning difficulties is key to residents 'path finding' their way round a care home. There is an increasing consensus around what constitutes signage best practise, please click here to find out more.
Our care home signs are self-adhesive, tough, non-reflective, and waterproof that have bold lettering and easily recognised images on a bright coloured background.
Produced on an industry regulated 3mm foamex board, the signs come in two sizes, 26cm x 26cm and 15cm x 15cm.
